During 2005 and 2006 I have travelled to various places throughout Europe. During these travels I was surprised to observe that no matter where I was at the time and how foreign the place felt to me there were always urban structures that seemed so familiar. Often a flash of recognition would go through my mind followed by a sense of confusion when I realised that I didn't recognise anything. On looking again it seemed there was a structure or formula that we have been conditioned with no matter where we have been brought up. These photographs of such situations explore the urban environment that could well be in our own city yet at the same time are recognisably foreign.
